5 day trek in the Himalayas
Starting in Birethanti we made our way 5 hours to Ulleri. We would be hiking for 5 days and staying at teahouses along the way.
We finally made it to our first teahouse!
And the views were worth the hike
Day 2 - 6 hour hike straight uphill to Ghorepani - 2850 Metres above sea level (MASL). This was one of the hardest days of the hike.
this woman is a Tibetan refugee & lives with her daughter in the mountains. we bought some bracelets from her as it is her only source of income. They looked so peaceful in the sun together. they had been through so much to get to that moment.

We made it to the top and the beauty of the mountains blew us away.
incredible view from our teahouse room
Rebel man
Just sitting on a gasoline tank on the tiny ledge outside a 2nd floor window, as you do.
Our tin wall had a few pee-a-boo holes in it that looked through to the next door neighbors bathroom so we tried the toilet paper trick...can't see the holes?
oh, there they are
A wave of food poisoning meant that I couldn't do the hike up to poon hill in the morning but I was lucky because its world class views were no where to be seen.
Day 3 - 6 hour hike to Tadapani - 2670 MASL
Also a very hard day we found out.
Satisfying noodles after another long, hard hike
Breakfast with some other trekkers at the teahouse
Day 4 - 4 hour hike from Tadapani to Ghandrung
Our last teahouse for the trek

walking through a part of the road under construction...what we didn't know was how dangerous it was until..
...this lose boulder came rolling down the hill right where we just walked!

Victory jump with my aching legs!
