Trying our first 'bocadillo de calamares', or fried squid sandwich in Madrid
I don't know how we had any room left, but we followed our calamari sandwich with some very rich, delicious 'Churros con Chocolate' next door
There is a distinct red light district in Madrid which we took a shortcut through one day to get to our apartment and along the way I caught these guys below looking very focused wrestling with a blow-up doll in a sex shop for their window display. they saw me taking a photo and we all burst out laughing.
This place is my heaven - 'Mercado de San Miguel' is a beautiful food court full of the most delicious tapas. You can spend hours going around to the different bars and sampling their incredible tapas and creative cava cocktails.
This was one of the more interesting tapas we tried called 'Gulas', or fish processed to resemble baby eels, or angulas. It was like spaghetti with a seafood flavor and surprisingly very yummy.
I love watching old couples holding hands in the street. I hope Reu & I get to be this old together.
